Covid-19 Protocols

New Protocols from July 5th

Guests

It is our statutory requirement that contact details of guests are provided to the relevant authorities in the event that contact tracing is required. As such please ensure that you have these details to hand when you visit the pub

Pub layout

We have made some adjustments to the layout of the pub to comply with physical distancing rules, both in the public areas and back of house. We have added discrete signage to guide you appropriately, and many of our doors will be left open to reduce common hand touch points.

Restaurant

The bar area will be open to serve drinks and take food orders only. The restaurant area will remain closed for food operations for the time being. It may be possible to utilise this area for drinkers on a severely restricted basis

Our menu

Norman has been hard at work revising our Summer Menu, which will list our signature dishes, as well as a fresh selection of seasonal picnic lunches and cream teas available from the community shop. The menu will be considerably smaller (for now) than what you have been used to, principally as we are required to have a much smaller kitchen team on each shift.

Continuous hand-washing

All members of staff have been retrained in the correct frequency and method for effective hand-washing.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

PPE is readily available, and gloves are worn by front-of-house employees whilst handling cutlery, crockery and glassware and serving food to our guests. Hand sanitisers We encourage you to use the additional hand sanitisers available in the pub during your visit.

Cleaning

The pub has implemented an enhanced half-hourly cleaning regime with a focus on common hand touch surfaces and toilet areas using chemicals which are effective against viruses.

If you feel unwell

Please do not visit the Sorrel Horse should you feel under the weather, however mildly.

Wellness checks

Our members of staff will complete daily health checks and have their temperatures recorded upon starting their shift. Further training is being carried out to ensure all can identify the symptoms of Covid-19, for both themselves and their colleagues. If a team member experiences any symptoms, they will be tested and excluded from the workplace until such a time as they are cleared to return.

Government guidelines will be applied at all times for both guests and staff and we reserve the right to ask guests who do not wish to comply with these guidelines to leave.

Thank you

Gary, Leila, Neale, Norman and the Sorrel Horse Team
