Welcome Jon Farthing

We are delighted to welcome Jon Farthing as Managing Director of Flag of Suffolk Ltd.

Jon is retiring from the British Army after 22 years exemplary service.  A gentlemen who has so much to offer with his global operational leadership and management experience, and these are exactly the qualities and expertise that we believe will continue to strengthen both Flag of Suffolk establishments into 2019 and beyond.

I very much look forward to settling my family down in Suffolk and becoming part of the local community in the Deben Peninsula.  I’d like to ensure that both the Swan and the Sorrel Horse are equipped with the ability to provide a service where the community can not only enjoy the delights of food, drinks and great entertainment, but a place they can continue to be proud of and call their second home.” Jon Farthing

Jon joined the British Army in 1996 and carried out his Basic Training at Army Training Regiment (ATR) Winchester.  After serving around the world on exercise and operations his final assignment is at the very heart of where his 22 year career began and that is back at the ATR Winchester as a Company Sergeant Major.  Jon will be joining the Flag of Suffolk team in late November but in the meantime he will be visiting us to enjoy the Bonfire Night on November 2nd at the Sorrel Horse.  I’m sure if you see Jon you will give him a warm welcome!

Flag of Suffolk owns and manages the Alderton Swan and manages the Sorrel Horse in Shottisham.
