New Head Chef at The Sorrel Horse

We’re excited to announce the arrival of our new head chef –  Mr Norman Ball – on Monday 19th March.

Norman comes to The Sorrel fresh from The Table in Woodbridge and has a plethora of experience having worked at such great venues as Seckford Hall Hotel in Woodbridge, Aurora Bar & Restaurant in Ipswich and the Hachette Bistro in Felixstowe.

Chef Norman embraces the philosophy of serving traditional food with a modern twist, taking old favourites and adding a little something extra.  He commented: “I can see fantastic potential at the Sorrel Horse, a pub that’s right at the heart of its community and I look forward to helping the Sorrel become the destination of choice in Suffolk and beyond. I want to bring in as many local suppliers as I can, and I’m always on the lookout for something a little bit different!”

The Flag of Suffolk directors, who manage the community-owned Sorrel Horse commented:  “We are delighted to welcome Norman to our team, and we look forward to working with him in the coming months to put the Sorrel firmly on the map as the place to visit in the Deben Peninsula.”
