New management @ The Sorrel Horse
We are delighted to announce that following amicable and cordial negotiations, an agreement has been reached between the Directors of Flag of Suffolk Ltd., and the Board which represents the interests of the Owners of The Sorrel Horse in Shottisham.
With effect from 4th November 2017, Flag of Suffolk, currently responsible for the management of the nearby Alderton Swan public house, will take over the management of The Sorrel Horse. This agreement will have no impact whatsoever upon the current ownership of the Sorrel Horse, which will remain a local community-owned pub, serving, first and foremost, the needs of the people of Shottisham village.
The pub and restaurant industry is not without its challenges in the current economic climate, and we believe that by reaching this agreement, the futures of both pubs are much more certain. We hope that by taking this bold step that long-standing loyal customers, as well as those who are perhaps new to the area or are simply visiting, will continue to support The Sorrel Horse and enjoy the warm welcome, excellent food and range of local beers that it is known for.
Gary Miller, Flag of Suffolk Director and Shottisham resident commented: “We are tremendously excited at the prospect of managing this finest example of an English country pub, complete with thatched roof, which lies at the heart of village life in Shottisham. The Sorrel Horse complements the Swan and gives the residents of the Deben Peninsula another quality destination to visit.”
